IN LOVING REMEMBRANCE OF [NAME]

AND
FOR  THE FAMILY Of [NAME]

+In the name of the loving God, Father Son and Holy Spirit

+ Rest eternal grant unto [Name]
R. And let light perpetual shine upon him.
We know that the souls of the righteous are in the hands of God
R. There shall no torment suffer them.

Come O gentle Spirit and stay within the hearts of  [Name]
Refresh them when their spirits wilt; balm their wounds; soothe their pain and lighten
their load, for without You we are naught, but with You is solace in the midst of pain.

Rise heart, Thy Lord is risen.  Sing His praise
Without delays,
Who takes thee by the hand, that thou likewise
With Him mayst rise:
That, as His death calcined thee to dust,
His life may make thee gold, and much more, just.

Awake, my lute, and struggle for thy part
With all thy art.
The cross taught all wood to resound his name,
Who bore the same.
His stretched sinews taught all strings, what key
Is best to celebrate this most high day.

Consort both heart and lute, and twist a song
Pleasant and long:
Or, since all music is but three parts vied,
And multiplied,
O let Thy blessed Spirit bear a part,
And make up our defects with his sweet art.

Ant. I am the Resurrection. Lord, remember the soul of your servant ......

Psalm 24.
To you, O Lord, I have lifted up my soul:
In you, O Lord, I put my trust: let me not be ashamed
Neither permit my enemies to laugh at me:
for no one who hopes in you shall be confounded.

Show me, Lord, your ways, and teach me your paths:
Direct me in your truth, and teach me.
For you are God my Saviour:
I have waited for you all the day long.

Remember your compassion, 0 Lord:
and your mercies which have been since the beginning of the world.
Do not remember the sins of my youth, nor my failings:
but remember me according to your mercy, for the sake of your goodness, 0 Lord.

The Lord is sweet and upright:
therefore he will lead sinners in the way.
He will guide the mild in judgement, he will teach the meek his ways:
All the ways of the Lord are mercy and truth.
Glory to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit:
As it was in the beginning is now and shall be for ever. Amen.
Ant. Repeat.

Ant. Blessed are those who mourn for they be comforted.
Psalm. 23
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want.
In verdant pastures he gives me repose:
beside restful waters he leads me;
He refreshes my sou1

He guides me in right paths for his name's sake:
Even though I walk in the valley of death I fear no evil;
for you are at my side:
your rod and your staff comfort me

You spread the table before me in the sight of my foes:
you anoint my head with oil; my cup overflows.
Only goodness and kindness follow me all the days of my life:
and I shall dwell in the house of the Lord for ever.
Glory be to the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Spirit
As it was in the beginning is now and ever shall be. Amen
Ant. Repeat

A reading from Paul's letter to Romans
Brothers and Sisters: Are you unaware that we who were baptized into Christ Jesus were baptized into his death? We were indeed buried with him through baptism into death, so that, just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, we too might live in newness of life.

The Canticle
A Song of God's love 1John 4.7 12
Ant. You will turn, O God, and bring us life.

L. Beloved, let us love one another,
for love is of God;
All. everyone who loves is born of God and knows God.
L. Whoever does not love does not know God,
All. for God is love.
L. In this the love of God was revealed among us, ' that God sent his only Son into the world,
All. so that we might live through him.
L. In this is love, not that we loved God but that he loved us,
All. and sent his Son to be the expiation for our sins,
L. Beloved, since God loved us so much,
All. we ought also to love one another.
L. For if we love one another, God abides in us,
All. and God's love will be perfected in us.

Ant. Repeated

Reading from Revelation
They shall see the Lord's face, and his name shall be on their foreheads. And night shall be no more; they shall not need the light of the lamp nor the light of the sun, for the Lord God shall enlighten them, and they shall reign for ever and ever.

TIME OF SILENCE AND REFLECTION

Give rest, O Christ, to thy servants with thy saints; where sorrow and pain are no more, neither sighing, but life everlasting.
Thou only are immortal, the creator and maker of man, and we are mortal, formed of the earth and unto earth shall we return.
For so thou did ordain when thou created us, saying:
'Dust thou art and unto dust thou shall return."
All we go down to the dust; but weeping o'er the grave we make our song:
ALLELUIA!  ALLELUIA! ALLELUIA!. Kontakion

By the breath of God created
Christ the prince of all its living
Take, O take him/her,
Take him/her, earth for cherishing.
+May [ Name] rest in peace, and may the Holy Spirit grant the family the comfort of your ever abiding love.
