For those who love George Herbert and the Ferrar family may be interested in this revised and enlarged book of what was known as "The Life of Glory". I originally designed this book after meeting a couple who lived a stone's throw from the little church of St. Andrew which still beckons the tourists as well as the devout.
This book is designed for those who especially want to know more about the life and character of this priest-poet as well as his poetry.
I have included an appendix to the book on the Ferrar family which was very special to Herbert, but also of their influence in the life of the English Church, especially in the 1630''s.
T.S. Eliot, a few centuries later, has immortalised "Little Gidding" in a poem by that name
If you come this way,
Taking any route, starting from anywhere,
At ant time or at any season,
...
You are here to kneel
Where prayer has been valid. And prayer is more
Than an order of words, the conscious occupation
Of the praying mind, or the sound of the voice praying.

The book is available through the main internet book sellers such as Amazon. In Sydney, Australia at Christ Church St. Laurence Bookshop.
